33 textile innovations, that partly wrote industry and social history, but definitely did change our daily life deeply, have been collected by the Forschungskuratorium Textil e.V. in its new brochure “Textile (R)Evolution”.

Already the subtitle “from nylons to fuselage” indicates the wide range of modern textiles. Thus the booklet tells the story of origin of various textile products, from Airbags to Textile Implants. Next to the revolutionary original ideas also today’s state of the technology and more development potential is represented.

In the beginning of the industrialisation, it was mostly sheer coincidence that resulted in new products, applications and technologies. Today textile innovations are in the first line the outcome of intensive interdisciplinary research and cross-industry cooperation. Coordinating this, the Forschungskuratorium Textil e.V. plays a key-role in the Collaborative Industrial Research programme (IGF) in Germany.
